skating rink

They're readying the skating rink in town. Not open yet.  What joy it was today to watch autumn leaves making delicate pirouettes across the fresh ice. So still & quiet. Gentle peace before the hectic holiday season takes center stage....

The true value of words is making people think.

Love what Virginia Woolf said about words: "They hate making money."  Money is the driving force of so many lives.  It is just paper.
There is something beautiful in creation as a process without caring about the money it will make. A rare sentiment.  True creation is driven by passion not ledger books.

Duh!

It's a good idea to stop your car & get out to offer help to a person sprawled on the street!

welcome

a place to share thoughts & feelings. a place to be who we are. and, today, a place to thank all veterans. most of all thank you dad for your invaluable service during world war 2. how brave you were on the savage fields of North Africa. what determination it took for you and your fellow soldiers to fight Rommel for which you earned a bronze star.  How you marched in Italy, boots sinking in mud, starving, seeing your buddies fall. I am eternally grateful for the sacrifices you made throughout your life for our country. you are my hero.
